The Bench Advises RMAL Hospitality on Allo Beirut Franchise Agreement
The Bench advised long-standing client RMAL Hospitality PJSC on a franchise agreement for the expansion of the popular Lebanese street food restaurant Allo Beirut in Abu Dhabi. Offering up Beiruti dishes in a laid-back setting, Allo Beirut was conceptualised and brought to life in 2018 by the Black Spoon group who are behind other brands like Ibn Al Bahr, Masti and Bombay Bungalow. The first Allo Beirut franchise is expected to open in the first half of 2022, with two more to follow in the UAE capital.
The RMAL team have led successful hospitality ventures across the region, including Wagamama, Trader Vic’s, as well as all Marco Pierre White restaurants outside of the UK, Ireland and the Channel Islands. The managing director of RMAL Hospitality PJSC, Elias Madbak commented: “We are very excited about the partnership with Allo Beirut. The timing couldn’t be better with the food scene in the capital becoming increasingly diverse. The brand is already a household name in Dubai and we are confident the three new restaurants will become the new favourite destination for Lebanese street food in Abu Dhabi.”
The Bench's franchise team has been recognised by the world’s leading legal directories including Who’s Who Legal, Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners. Legal 500 Intellectual Property 2021 commented “The Bench is a boutique law firm with a core focus on the hospitality and TMT sectors. Its key areas of activity include infringement matters, franchising, licence agreements and M&A transactions”. The team has advised on bringing leading international franchised brands to the UAE as well as franchising numerous UAE home grown brands.
