The Bench Advises Accor on Rixos Doha

The Bench announced today that it advised Accor on its suite of agreements with Qetaifan Projects Company for the Rixos Doha Qetaifan Island North.

Rixos Doha Qetaifan will feature a 345-key hotel including a Souq of 11,000 sqm of leasing space, a Beach Club, a Theme Park and a Waterpark, where visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf. Rixos will open right before the world cup and will be a very important platform to showcase Qatar as a tourist destination due to its proximity to the stadiums and thanks to its unique leisure offering.

The Bench team was led by Elise Gillians who commented: “I very much enjoyed working on this interesting, multifaceted project, which required close collaboration between various stakeholders. It was a pleasure dealing with the highly professional Accor and Rixos teams, and I’m sure the development will be a success”.

James Donald, Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Accor commented: “We worked with The Bench to close this important regional hospitality deal, which required specialist technical advice within a narrow time frame. The Bench was able to provide this advice and the relevant documentation production in a timely and cost-effective manner, which enabled us to meet our objectives and close the deal earlier than expected to the delight of our counterparty and internal team. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Joby and his team, all of whom prioritise great client service and are a joy to work with.”

The Bench lawyers are consistently recognised as amongst the leading real estate and hospitality lawyers in the United Arab Emirates. Legal 500 (Real Estate UAE) noted that the Bench comprises a “nimble practice providing top-quality services at reasonable prices“ and “maintains a focus on the hospitality sector”.
