Forget the World Cup Finals....The Oath Finalists are warming up!

The Oath Middle East Legal Awards has unveiled the 2022 shortlist and The Bench has qualified again this year as a Finalist for TMT Team of the Year.

The TMT group for 2022 is very strong and includes teams from across the world including local favourites (such as Al Tamimi and Hadefs), the usual English/European teams (such as Simmons & Simmons and Clydes) and even some US and Canadians in the mix (Eversheds Sutherland and Gowling). Some are however saying that the competition will just not be the same this year without the very talented and flamboyant TMT team from DLA.

The Oath Middle East Legal Awards made its debut in 2015 to felicitate law firms, legal support service providers, general counsel and in-house teams who are a cut above the rest and are revolutionising the region with their outstanding contribution. With an intensive judging process in place, The Oath Middle East Legal Awards seeks to honour and recognise the landmark deals and initiatives of the year gone by.

The Bench's trophy cabinet proudly displays some previous successes at The Oath Middle East Legal Awards including Emerging Law Firm of the Year in both 2018 and 2019, a Honourable Mention for IP Team of the Year in 2019 and a Special Mention for Law Firm of the Year UAE in 2017. The Bench's TMT Team has made it through to the finals each year since 2017 but are still looking for that elusive big win!

The full list of finalists is available here. Good luck to all our peers, clients and friends on the big night (24th November at Waldorf Astoria) and hope to see some of you there - unless you are watching Portugal v Ghana that night instead!
